A few weekend ago myself, Robbie, BJ and Jacey teamed up to run the Pineapple classic race to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
I don't think we've ever had such a great time running a 5K race. This race was unique in that it was filled with obstacles that were scattered throughout the course. We were not told what the obstacles would be ahead of time, so it was exciting to get to each new challenge.
We climbed through tubes, over and under things, hopped through tires and scaled walls. It was a blast!! And did I mention that throughout the race we needed to carry a pineapple?? It wasn't surprising to see team members tossing the pineapple back and forth to get it through the race.
I'm happy to report that our pineapple survived to the finish line and onto my kitchen cutting board.
After the race participants enjoy a luau in a hanger filled with sand, food, music and beer garden (free beer!).
I can't wait until next year to find out what obstacles the course will hold. This is definitely a race that I'll be taking part in again!
