Current Count

As it stands between blog comment and what some have told us, the current count for baby's gender stands at:

Boy- 12
Girl-4

Robbie and I are still uncertain of our guesses, but I will say that I've had a few dream that have leaned in one direction... If that means anything, who knows...

The box remains unopened.

The Answer is in the Box

Today we had our 18 week check up which included a full anatomy ultrasound. The appointment went well and we were very happy to see that the baby is developing well. It was quite an interesting appointment, as the ultrasound was very detailed and looked at all of the baby's parts, including genitals. I was not ready to know the gender of the baby, so we opted to look away during that part of the appointment. Instead, we had the ultrasound technician put the ultrasound picture which identified the baby's gender in a sealed envelope for us to open when ready.
After the appointment we decided to head to the UW bookstore to pick out a boy and a girl outfit for our baby. We then asked one of the store clerks to take a look at the gender ultrasound without us seeing and had her ring up the correct outfit and send it off to gift wrap. So now sits a beautifully wrapped gift with the answer to the big question... are we expecting a he or a she???
We have yet to open the box.
So what do you think, is baby a boy or a girl?? Tell us what your guess is. If you do not have a log on for the blog, go ahead and post your guess as anonymous. Just be sure to sign your name after your guess.
Below is a short 3-D clip of the baby at 18 weeks.

An Entrance into the 30's, Robbie Style

When it comes to birthdays, Robbie has always been of the mind of keeping his small and simple. So when it came to celebrating his big 3-0 we needed to figure out something to keep with his philosophy and still be able to include everyone that wanted to celebrate. Luckily for him his birthday fell on a Saturday and therefore the Huskies had a big basketball game scheduled that day to be televised since they were on the road. So he listed the following as guidelines for the celebration:

-Nothing big, simple and low key

-Husky Basketball

-Beer

What we came up with was a small casual get together at the local bar and grill in Ballard called the Loft. We were able to reserve the upstairs and have full control of the TVs to ensure we had the game on for the birthday boy. It was a fun celebration with family and friends that fit all of the listed criteria plus a Husky win, pool and my favorite...Trophy cupcakes. It was a great way for Robbie to enter his 30s.
