Ballerina Carina
On Wednesday Carina attended her first official dance class. One of the moms in my PEPS group found a great class through Creative Dance Studio
The class was a great workout for both Carina and I, as carrying a 17 pound child around moving to rhythms is not an easy task for a whole hour! All the babies laughed and cooed to the different movements and nursery rhymes. I can't wait for the next class. Here are pictures of Carina and her friend Sage waiting for class to start.

Lunch Date
For the holiday on Monday we decided to meet our friends Sara and Peggy for a nice lunch in Ballard. It was a fun adventure on a surprisingly nice January day. We had lots of fun (although Carina's expression may say otherwise- she needed a diaper change). Carina is still cute, even with a scowl on her face!

Meet My New Friends...
...Left foot & Right foot.
Carina has always loved reaching for her feet. While she was still in mommy's belly we would often see her with her feet in her face on the sonogram.
With her new ability to intentionally grab things she rediscovered her feet and has found that they are the best toys. We often find her grabbing at them and putting them up to her mouth. Sometimes we will find her giggling with half a foot in her mouth!
Although this hasn't been the best activity for her socks, it is pretty darn cute.

A New Year with New Adventures...
...in to solids!!

Spoons are pretty fun too

Yes that's right, Carina has started her venture into solid foods. We began with home made brown rice cereal and have moved our way into butternut squash. Thanks to our handy dandy "beaba babycook", making yummy home made food couldn't be easier!
Eating up the rice cereal
The amazing "baby cook" (Thank Lisa & Kim!)
A "not so sure about this" reaction to the squash
A happy girl covered in squash
What will we try next, avocado or zucchini??

1st Sleep Over
We decided to ring in 2010 with our good friends the Hugus family. Their daughter Sage is only 3 weeks younger than Carina. The girls were so cute together. We rang in the east coast new years with the girls and off to bed they went for their first sleep over together while the adults stayed up for the west coast ring in.
Here are the girls hanging out awaiting the count down. There was a warm fire so it was warm and cozy (hence the open pj's).
Hey Sage, what are you looking at?
