Patiently Waiting

Each day has become an anxious waiting game of "When will she get here?"
Cali seems to know something is going on, but not really sure of exactly what it is. She is very aware that it has something to do with my belly. Frequently when I lay down on the couch she comes by to rest her head on my belly. I like to think of it as her way of snuggling with her little sis.

Guessing Game Updates

Here is the latest update from this morning's doctor's appointment.

Baby looks happy and healthy.
She is unfortunately still in a breached position and seems to have placed her head higher, so she turned the wrong way and her butt is sitting comfortably in mom's pelvis.
She is estimated around 7 lbs (Don't think it is fair to give an exact weight, especially since sonograms are just estimates).

Those of you thinking that she will be under 7 lbs, you may want to reconsider.
Michelle is currently 1 cm dilated with zero effacement.
Baby has dropped some, but has not fully engaged herself.

We'll post an update with all the guesses soon!!

Let the Guessing Begin...

With less than 4 weeks remaining before the newest addition to the family arrives we figured what better way to pass the time than to play a little game… (Our good friends Mark and Meg did this with their kids and we loved it! So we are using the same rules that they have set. Thanks guys!!)

The game: Guess the birth date and weight of the baby

How to play: Send in your guess to us no later than July 3rd. If the baby has arrived by then, you’re out of luck!

How to win: Guess the actual birth date and weight (date trumps weight in the tie-breaking round)

The prize: Diaper duty for a month… Only joking- It's a surprise!!

Some tips to help with your guessing…

Actual calendar due date is July 18th.

During our last sonogram on June 3rd the baby was measuring at least a week ahead of the average size for her gestational age. Estimated weight was 5 lbs 9 oz

She is currently in a breached position and does not appear to have dropped in the slightest

Both Mom and Dad to be were over 8 lbs at birth.

The next appointment and sonogram is on Thursday morning. We will post updates as we get them!
Happy guessing!!

To celebrate the finish if nursing school, the school of nursing student council (PONS) organized a BBQ at golden gardens as a last hurrah before the official graduation ceremony. For fun my good friend/classmate and birth doula Jane painted my pregnant belly. It was a fun experience to be surrounded by my fellow classmates that have been wonderful supports to me throughout nursing school and especially this past year. It was also quite relaxing to be painted. I think our baby girl enjoyed it as she moved quite often throughout the process. Here are a few shots of the final product. Below are me with my great friends and classmates Elizabeth and Jane. Notice how wonderfully they match my painting...and it wasn't even planned :) I'm going to miss seeing my wonderful friends in class!! Hooray for all of us for finishing!!

Sunny Days in Seattle

As most Seattlites know, sunny weather tends to be rare during the months of May and June.
Somehow this year has been different. With the end of May came a flood of sunny weather. We couldn't be more excited.
Between work, final school work and life in general we tried to get out to enjoy the beautiful sunshine.
Here we are enjoying a hot day at the dog park. Cali was very pleased!!

Let's hope that this is a pattern that will continue throughout the Summer!
