Away to the Islands

Since last April things have been quite hectic in the Hamilton household. With Michelle starting a new job and the whole family getting on a new routine and schedule, we haven't had much down time. At times it feels like we barely get to see one another.
All the hard work finally led to a stretch of days off last week. We decided to take advantage of the rare open days and escape to Orcas island for a few days. It was an excellent idea! (And also much deserved.)
We were able to find a last minute little cottage with the North Beach Inn for our mini vacation. It was quite rustic, but the perfect setting for our family. It felt like camping on our own little private lot on the beach. Cali was so content to be off leash and getting lots of beach time. Carina and Cali had a blast together.
Lucky for us we were able to watch the towns own little Solstice parade before heading home. Carina loved all the dancing and drumming.
All in all we got to have some quality family time and enjoy some relaxing days on a beautiful island.
Here are a few pictures of all the fun.
